Nationwide, the unmet financial need remains a significant barrier to degree completion for many students. For students with a proven record of academic success, just a small amount can sometimes make the difference between walking across the stage and leaving college with student debt but no degree.
Ryan Hayes-Owens '22
A sociology and anthropology major and Posse Scholar, Ryan Hayes-Owens '22 graduated summa cum laude and was the 2022 Student Commencement Speaker. At Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ, she served as a leader with the Sophomore Class Applied Leadership Experience (SCALE) and new student orientation, as a member of Witkaze, the Black student association at Agnes Scott, and as public relations chair of Publius, Agnes Scott’s pre-law society. In fall 2022, she began a graduate program at Northwestern University’s renowned Medill School of Journalism, Media, Integrated Marketing and Communication, and will pursue a Master of Science in journalism, specializing in video and broadcasting.
